Obesity
Obesity 30 April 2009
Hannah Jones
Can diet pills work without addressing emotional issues relating to food?

This month a fat-busting pill went on sale over the counter in the UK. But do dieting mechanisms like these actually work without confronting the psychological and emotional issues that have caused overeating and obesity to start with? Journalist Hannah Jones examines her dysfunctional relationship with food in a documentary called听Fix My Fat Head, part of the 大象传媒's Headroom campaign. 听She joins Jenni, along with听Julia Buckroyd, Emeritus Professor of Counselling at the听University of Hertfordshire, and Dr Matthew Capehorn from the National Obesity Forum.

If you want to get in touch with Professor Julia Buckroyd please email her directly on j.buckroyd@herts.ac.uk

大象传媒 Headroom has launched an action line, 08000 933 193, which offers callers advice about where to get support if they, or someone they know, is suffering from an eating disorder.
