Are supermarkets doing enough?

They are seen as the height of convenience with an average store offering around 42,000 products. This should make supermarkets ideal places for busy families to do a weekly or even fortnightly shop under one roof. But they are also an Aladdin's cave of ready meals, junk foods and sweets, many of which appeal to children with their cartoon character endorsement and colourful packaging. Woman's Hour has been looking at children and obesity and how to achieve a healthier lifestyle. So are supermarkets doing enough to help? Or has profit taken precedence over social responsibility? Ritula is joined by Jessica Mitchell from the Food Commission and Andrew Opie from the British Retail Consortium.
