Obesity Wednesday 19 June 2002
In the UK some 400,000 women and 124,000 men are classified as "morbidly obese."

The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) has been preparing guidelines for providing surgery on the NHS to help obese people lose weight. But does this send out the wrong message about how we should deal with excessive eating?
Jenni is joined by Deanne Jade of the National Centre for Eating Disorders and Zoe Kenyon, a retired GP and NHS Manager to discuss the issues.
Do you think surgery for obesity should be available on the NHS? Join in the discussion on our message board.
