We've also produced a booklet on travel health "Passport to Health: A Guide for Travellers Abroad" - A5 booklets of which have been printed or alternatively a pdf version can be downloaded and saved locally (see Related Documents).

    A guide to the health of contributors who are asked to perform physically demanding tasks, over and above those that they would normally encounter in their day to day life.
  • Disaster Coverage – Health Aspects

    A guide to the particular health risks when visiting areas subject to natural or man-made disasters.
  • Disease and Contact with Viruses and Bacteria

    A guide for anyone deployed to areas where there is risk from infectious disease from human, animal, insect or parasite sources, including zoonoses. These controls can also apply to harmful bacteria found in incidents such as sewage spills.

    A guide to provision of first aid and welfare facilities when working on location, away from base.
  • Health Hazards on Location

    A brief introduction to preventing communicable illness when making programmes.
  • International Travel - Risks & Health

    This is a guide for ´óÏó´«Ã½ staff planning to travel overseas. It covers the basic precautions needed when travelling to countries usually deemed to be of low health risk, for example, most of Europe, Scandanavia, North America, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
  • Medical Emergency Evacuation

    We often work in countries and locations remote from emergency medical services. Should any of our team become seriously ill or injured, we need to have a plan in place to give first aid, stabilise and then transport them to a suitable medical facility as quickly and safely as possible.
  • Psychological Trauma and PTSD

    A guide to dealing with psychological trauma or a traumatic event where there is exposure to a violent situation, personal life threatening danger or fear of death. This guide is for workers whose work can involve exposure to such situations especially when covering events such as war, disasters and civil unrest.
  • Voice: Maintaining it for Work

    A guide to using your voice if you are a presenter on radio or television, or you use your voice as part of your work such as a re-speaker, singer, translator or a lecturer/trainer.
  • Zika Viral Disease

    Zika Viral Disease is a mosquito-borne disease caused by the Zika virus. The World Health Organisation has declared it a global public health emergency.
