Austria? The Italian Lakes??

The Alps?

The Pyrenees (?spelling?)

The Dolomites?

The Cairngorms?

No - it was Mull and across the Sound to the Mainland to the Morvern Hills - not much snow on the low ground but enough to dust the tops of the mountains - lots of hail storms today which gave the impression of snow at low ground - like millions of frozen white ball bearings - very strange. My crocuses photographed on Monday are now gone - just as well I took the snap when I did - I guess they made a tasty meal for someone! As I write this, the wind is gusting and is quite scary - feels like the house could fly away - visions of Dorothy in "Over the Rainbow" when the house disappears in a tornado or is it a cyclone (of course the Judy Garland version). Hope it is calmer where you are!

Nice pics. Looks quite scenic and not forbidding. I assume they make for nice hikes, at least in milder weather. Thanks. # Sorry about the crocuses. Rabbits?

Hi MJC - great hiking country but as you say, in milder, kinder weather - the crocuses were probably eaten by blackbirds - will have to send out a spy!

Wild Freckle from Mull - in the gales!

thanks for the beautiful pictures. we received our first rain in about six weeks yesterday. it's been cool here...about 15 degrees celsius. hope to visit Mull on our next trip.

Lovely photos! The views of Scotland vary as widely as the accents, which is a great thing. The wonderous bens and glens, intermingles with lochs and sea... Scotland truly is a beauty.

Lovely, WF. I've seen snow on top of Ben More in May! I hope the wind's died down by now. I'm sure your house will be OK - they build them tough on the Island. The hotel we go to in Tob has walls that are about 18" thick - I love the old solid cottages. Keep the pics coming - it's almost a month since I was on Mull and I'm getting withdrawal symptoms.

I see Mull is an overall exporter of icing sugar
