  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Lyth lbw b Bailey 10 (Yorkshire 11-1 v Lancs 566-9 dec)

Adam Lyth shoulders arms to a ball that comes back in from Tom Bailey and he's given out lbw.

Disastrous start for Yorkshire and not what you need from one of your most experienced batters.

  2. Postpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Kent 1-0 v Surrey 671-9 dec

Kent's first innings has also begun at Beckenham.

Ben Compton gets off the mark and they're now only 670 behind.

  3. Postpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Yorkshire 8-0 v Lancashire 566-9 dec

James Anderson gets things under way for Lancashire and concedes a couple of boundaries to Adam Lyth in his first over.

First ball Lyth cuts him through point and then guides him down to third man a little streakily.

21 overs for Yorkshire to face tonight.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Bracey c Overton b Leach 39 (Glos 60-2 v Som 591-7d)

    Second strike for Somerset.

James Bracey just gets his angles wrong and plays Jack Leach with an angled bat, nicking a fairly innocuous delivery to slip.

So unlike the Surrey game, Gloucestershire do not have a good start to relieve the pressure and have it all to do.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Yates c Young b Kelly 7 (Warks 57-2 v Northants 597-6d)

    A second wicket for Northants.

Rob Yates follows one sent across him from Matt Kelly and he pokes it into the hands of second slip.

    16 overs remain at Edgbaston.

Northants will be eyeing up further scalps.

  6. SURREY DECLAREpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Kent v Surrey 671-9 dec

But the innings will end with seven batters making fifties.

    Surrey have declared at tea!

James McCaghrey has got in touch to say only one team has had an innings where eight batters made half-centuries - Australia in 1893.

I've got my eyes on quite a few things at the moment, so I'll take your word for it James!

  8. wicket

LANCASHIRE DECLAREpublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Wood c Hill b Loten 39 (Yorkshire v Lancashire 566-9 dec)

Yorkshire's pain in the field ends!

Luke Wood picks out George Hill deep in the leg-side to give Tom Loten a second wicket and Lancashire declare.

    566-9. Huge.

  9. Tea at Beckenhampublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Kent v Surrey 671-9

Finally the afternoon session comes to a close at Kent.

Jordan Clark and Dan Worrall have put on 84 for the last wicket.

I wouldn't be surprised if they come back out after tea rather than a declaration.

  10. Postpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Kent v Surrey 671-9

Surely there's never been an innings with eight batters making 50 or more?

I've found a few Test innings where seven batters have made half-centuries, but first-class records are a bit harder to find stats for.

Surrey number 11 Dan Worrall needs six more to become the eighth Surrey man to reach the milestone.

  11. Roses record for Lancashirepublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Yorkshire v Lancashire 548-8

    Scott Read
    ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Lancashire

This is now Lancashire's highest score against Yorkshire.

The previous was 537 all out in 2005, Mark Chilton making 130 he's here today in his role as Director of Cricket Performance also, Andrew Symonds 146, Ian Sutcliffe 93, and Warren Hegg 68 in that game.

This one has been dominated by Keaton Jennings highest first-class score and two big partnerships with Steven Croft and Dane Vilas.

  12. 50 runs

for Clarkpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Kent v Surrey 665-9

Surrey are just toying with Kent now.

Jordan Clark becomes the seventh batter to pass fifty in this incredible innings.

Number 11 Dan Worrall isn't far behind on 42.

What's the most number of half-centuries in an innings?

  13. 'Cricket played with high intensity'published at 16:26 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Middlesex 91-2 v Notts 415

    Dave Bracegirdle
    ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Nottingham commentator

Peter Handscomb, with 34, and Mark Stoneman, who has 31, have kept Notts at bay after the home county lost two early wickets.

In bright sunshine the cricket has been played with high intensity, with both Test batters relishing their encounters with Stuart Broad and James Pattinson.

The surface has remained true throughout and Middlesex shouldn’t have any fear of avoiding the follow-on and getting close to the visitors’ first innings score of 415.

  14. Postpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Gloucs 37-1 v Somerset 591-7 dec

    Anthony Gibson
    ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Somerset

George Scott's dismissal to the very first ball of Gloucestershire's innings should not be taken as an indication that this pussycat of a pitch has suddenly become a tiger.

It was simply a very fast, straight ball from Peter Siddle, which was much too good for Scott, and all the better for being first up.

Thereafter, whilst Marcus Harris and, especially, James Bracey did play and miss a few times, there was precious little sign of swing or seam. Somerset may have made the game safe, but they are going to have to work very hard to take the 19 wickets they need for the win.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Bailey c & b Loten 13 (Yorkshire v Lancashire 527-8)

Great catch straight after tea by Tom Loten!

Tom Bailey drives one back at the Yorkshire seamer and he grabs it one-handed.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Davies lbw b White 29 (Warks 41-1 v Northants 597-6d)

A breakthrough for Northants and a wicket for Jack White in his first appearance of the season.

Nice delivery as well - one that nips back and catches Alex Davies on the crease.

It’s not been an easy start to his life at Edgbaston for AD.

  17. New record for Surreypublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Kent v Surrey 613-9

And that is indeed a new first-class record for Surrey!

They've made the highest score without a batter reaching a century - surpassing the 609 made by Namibia against Uganda in 2010.

Remember that game? Nope, me neither!

Everyone has made double figures at Beckenham, with Ollie Pope's 96 the highest score.

  18. Tea at Bristolpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Glos 33-1 v Som 591-7d

No further loss for Gloucestershire after George Scott fell first ball of the reply.

They got out of trouble in fine style against Surrey and The Shire need a similar effort here to save the game.

  19. Division Two latestpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

That partnership has improved Glamorgan to 290-8 at Chester-le-Street.

Billy Root’s fifty alongside Michael Neser has seen the visitors recover from 163-7 to almost on terms with Durham’s 311.

Elsewhere. Tom Clark’s hundred has pushed Sussex into a good lead at Grace Road. 210 v 271-4 at tea.

And after a shaky start Middlesex now 76-2 replying to Notts’ 415.

  20. Record stand from Neser and Rootpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

    Durham 311 v Glamorgan 286-8

    Martin Emmerson
    ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Newcastle

Michael Neser and the recalled Billy Root have broken the record for the highest eighth wicket stand by a Glamorgan pair against Durham.

Their stand of 113 today has seen the game drift away from the Durham attack. It also broke the 108 put on by Alex Wharf and Darren Thomas in Cardiff in 2004.

I wonder if Wharf is aware his record is broken? He should be. He's umpiring in this one!

Neser has just gone lbw to Ben Raine for 62 while Root has become the fourth player in the innings to reach 50. And yet again I am wondering how Durham will take 20 wickets in a match once more. They haven't done it yet this season.

Glamorgan were 148 runs behind when Neser came out to the middle and just 35 when he returned to the pavilion.
