GB men slip behind after first endpublished at 06:23 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2022

Men's team round-robin stage: Great Britain 0-2 Italy (after one end)

One stone left each in this first end. Bruce Mouat to deliver it with Italy lying one...

Can the skip change that look? Ohhh, agonising. Mouat cosies his stone up to the yellow Italian one.

But Italy are closer to the button.

And a superb final stone from Joel Retornaz shunts GB out the house and ensures Italy double up and take two from the first end...

He finishes fourth in his 1/8 final, but he tells me it 鈥渕eans everything鈥 to be competing at his first Olympics.

    The sheet is set.

This will be Great Britain's first match in the round-robin stages. They are lead by Bruce Mouat, who fell just short of a medal alongside Jen Dodds in the mixed doubles, with Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan alongside him and Ross Whyte as alternate.

They are world silver medallists and ranked number one in the world.

    A 24-carat medal shot.

We鈥檝e a bouncing crowd at the snowboard cross. A dance troupe has entertained them, we鈥檝e had a game of musical statues and now they鈥檙e just bopping along with mascot Bing Dwen Dwen.

Not that we can hear them though. No cheering allowed to prevent any Covid spread.

    Party on.

Men's ice hockey: Sweden 3-1 Latvia (second period)

Max Friberg is a Sweden ice hockey player, but you get the feeling he wouldn't have minded being a footballer.

Watch this great clip as he rises beautifully and heads the puck away. Like peak Andy Carroll or, as he's from Sweden, peak Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

By the way, Latvia have just pulled one back with a goal from Renars Krastenbergs.

    Thomas Duncan
    大象传媒 Scotland in Beijing

After missing out on a medal in the mixed doubles, Bruce Mouat returns to action with his men's side.

People with infinitely more curling expertise than me say, on current form, Britain are the favourites to win gold along with Brad Gushue's Canadian rink.

Let's see how Mouat, Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie, and Hammy McMillan get on.

This Italian team has mixed doubles winner Amos Mosaner in its ranks. No easy games, as they say.

Curling - Great Britain 5-6 Switzerland

Eve Muirhead had a chance to win it for Great Britain but her last stone went agonisingly long as her quartet began their campaign with a 6-5 loss to Switzerland following the first extra end after it had been 5-5 after 10 ends.

Figure skating - men's free skating

    Robin Cousins
Olympic gold medallist figure skater on 大象传媒 TV

    Phenomenal.

The rivalry is not in his head. Nathan has only focused on one thing, and that鈥檚 all he needed to do.

That score is insane and I can guarantee it is going to stand for quite a few seasons. It is very well deserved.

Nathan was supreme and to win by that margin is just phenomenal.

  20. Brutal track punishes mistakespublished at 05:30 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2022

    Men's skeleton

    Anna Thompson
    大象传媒 Sport in Beijing

British skeleton slider Matt Weston has been speaking after completing his first two runs down the track, known as the snow dragon.

He said: "This track is extremely punishing. Normally if you make a mistake on a track you might lose a couple of hundredths, maybe a tenth of a second.

"You make a mistake here and it's like half a second here, half a second there, so it's really punishing.
