In Sudan preparations are underway for historic elections due in April, preceded by voter registration all of this month.

The polls are a key part of the peace deal that ended Sudan's bitter north-south civil war and they're also being viewed as especially important for those areas contested by both north and south.

The ´óÏó´«Ã½'s Peter Martell has travelled to one of those disputed regions, the remote Nuba Mountains at the very centre of Sudan, from where he sends this report.
