Review of services for children
The 大象传媒 Trust has completed its review of services for children.
The Trust believes that children's broadcasting is at the heart of the 大象传媒's public service remit. As such we decided to make this the subject of our second service review.
The Trust is responsible for reviewing each of the 大象传媒's services at least once every five years to ensure that they are high-quality and provide good value for everyone in the UK. Our first review, which covered bbc.co.uk, was completed in May 2008. This time we have looked at the 大象传媒's content for children aged 12 and under. This includes the C大象传媒 and CBeebies channels, the C大象传媒 and CBeebies branded content on 大象传媒 One, 大象传媒 Two, radio and online, as well as content to support formal learning for primary school children.
Findings
Our review asked two overarching questions. Firstly, how well is the 大象传媒 serving children? And secondly, is the 大象传媒's strategy for children's services and content robust and deliverable?
For details on the review's findings please see the documents below.
Evidence base
You can find links to information gathered during the public consultation as well as research we used in reaching our conclusions on the supporting evidence page.
Equality impact assessment
In fulfilling its equality duties the 大象传媒 must make arrangements to assess proposed policies for any effects they might have on the promotion of equality. A retrospective equality impact assessment has been conducted on the children's service review, a summary of which can be found below.
