Continuous data
Example
If Jack has been measured as being 128 cm tall and Rhian has been measured as being 129.5 cm tall, the measurable data is telling us that Rhian is slightly taller than Jack.
Continuous data can be any value. Unlike discrete data, in which there are specific values (eg size 34 or size 36 shoes), continuous data examples such as time or age can take any value, eg you can be 15 years, 12 days, 6 hours, 4 minutes old.
Here is another example of continuous data which shows the results from a recent survey about how far different pupils travel to school.
