MIXTAPE 5 SUGGESTIONS AND QUESTIONS FOR JON RONSON

Post categories:

Adam Buxton Adam Buxton | 15:00 UK time, Monday, 26 April 2010

Hello blog pals, even the blog pals who gave me a hard time for filling in for Jonathan Ross on Radio 2 a few weeks back and creating some toe curling radio by trying to cheer up the miserable Modfather with some light Grease-based humour. Boy, there's really no pleasing some people!

Ìý

Anyway, it's that time again. I'm recording my 5th Big Mix Tape this week and the working title is Wave Of New Relations. It's that most Nick Hornbyocious of mix tapes: the compilation for a new boyfriend or girlfriend with all the musical double thinking and showing off that entails. I have a fairly clear idea of what I'm putting on there but if you have any tracks that you think I would be insane to miss, please do let me know. I'm also compiling a list of songs that should not under any circumstances be used on a compilation for a new romantic friend. That's a friend with whom you have recently become romantic, not a member of Spandau Ballet. Anyway your suggestions for songs to avoid on the New Relations mix would be extremely welcome.

Ìý

Finally I would be deeply indebted if you could contribute a few questions for my guest this week, the journalist, radio & TV documentary maker, author of books like Them and The Men Who Stare At Goats, and tickler of conspiracy theorists, extremists and nutbars both harmless and frightening: Jon Ronson. There's a lot to ask him about and I'll do my best to put as many of your enquiries to him as I can, after I've concluded my own addled and rambling interrogation obviously. I'll do my best to avoid Grease jokes.

Ìý

Thanks!

A DOZEN A&J EASTER EGG PODCASTS

Post categories: ,Ìý

James Stirling (6 Music) James Stirling (6 Music) | 11:40 UK time, Thursday, 1 April 2010

Prepare yourself for an Easter treat over the next three weeks. If you missed some of the early Adam & Joe 6 Music podcasts, then here's your chance to listen to and even download them. Over Christmas, we re-released podcasts 1 - 10 and this Easter we'll put out numbers 11 - 20. You can either listen to the programmes or download them here or via your usual podcast method!

Ìý

Unfortunately the podcasts will only be available for seven days after the programmes broadcast, so get in there fast before they disappear. The shows include the origins of STEPHEN!, Glastonbury and some fantastic Song Wars battles so they are worth owning if you don't already.

Ìý

There is also a special three hour compilation edition of Adam & Joe on Saturday 3rd April in their usual slot of 10am.

Ìý

And don't forget, the dozen Easter Egg podcasts will include the first episode of Adam Buxton's Big Mixtape - the show starts at midday on Sunday 4th April and you can get the podcast here .

Ìý

Happy Easter everyone!
