I do like it in my more mercurial moments of misery and self-pity (the alliteration fairy gave up on me there a bit) but can't see it opening or closing this show somehow. Pity - it's a cracker. Just a bit grim.
Talked myself out of that one, then. Duh.
Better still - that blindingly obvious one. The show wouldn't be complete without it.

I reckon the reason for the relative lack of comment on this theme is that the slant - "As one door opens then another one closes" - is a bit too negative. I'm almost certain that if they'd transposed the verbs there'd be at least 3 more comments.

And a couple of people have mentioned Say Hello, Wave Goodbye - Marc Almond/Soft Cell. Everytime GIO play this they play some atrocious version. The one we all want to hear is the 12" version from the Memorabilia CD - absolutely beautiful, there's a fantastic oboe/clarinet solo in the middle that Aker Bilk would have been proud of - Get It On
and, of course, a big 2nd for any of the Gong suggestions above - unlike the ´óÏó´«Ã½, Gilli hasn't got a defined benefit pension scheme, so we've got to help out.Think of it as a kind Children in Need.
