Slow, slow, quick,quick,slow...
It was one of my favourite programmes and a fantastic theme so thanks to all who took part and made it a great experience. It was lovely to hear about the great things that have happened to you this week and even if you've had a rotten week I hope tonight's show will have cheered you up.
On Monday, it's songs that start slow and then get fast. Spandau's Gold that we played tonight is a good example but Freebird would be another good one. I'm the kind of guy who likes a song to grab me right from the opening. For me, it's all about that opening few seconds of a track. So, sounds like Monday's theme is going to be one that I might struggle with. Help me out then...

Dim All The Lights - Donna Summer from the magnificent Bad Girls album.
It starts slow and then Donna lets us have the long note with the rising disco beat - this is so reminicent of my mother's call to action in the morning - holding that long note as she banged on her tabla, it almost bring tears to my eyes.

Klaxon for Born Slippy - it's the same *speed* all the way through, but lack of drums at the start hides the fact. I suspect a lot of potential tracks will fall foul of this (She Sells Sanctuary, I'm In Love with a German Film Star, Nelson Mandela to name but three).
Actually, Born Slippy's a really *slow* track - it really is as slow as it appears at the start, but lots of drum notes to the beat really hides it.

+1 for Eloise
And adding:
* The Shadows - Classical Gas
* Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover (another guitar hero track)
* Led Zep - Nobody's Fault But Mine (2mins shorter than Stairway)
* Ewan McGregor - Your Song (from the Moulin Rouge OST)
* Nicole Kidman - Sparkling Diamonds (Mouline Rouge again - a *very* short slow bit, mind!)
and anyone's version of I've Been Everywhere. Just for a giggle, can we have Rolf Harris' UK version?
