I could ask you to play some man, wales's answer to The Grateful dead. But I won't because I know you won't..

Instead, could you please play "The Garden" by Jackie Leven, from the album "The mystery of death is greater than the mystery of love" At 5.55, perfect for tonights show. Jackie is currently in hospital after major surgery, and has fought against several infections and still lucky to be with us. It would be lovely to hear one of his songs on the show.

You won't even have to do the news, Macauley trailer, or the outdoor conditions forecast (although I'll miss that lassie pronouncing 'Bredalbane' and 'Lochnagar') and the montage would be pointless.

there was 1 cd in byres road a few months ago @ £15 so i'll wait till it comes down to a fiver...somebody bought it though.
i remember bumping into them before they were big....in tain....they were playing a church hall......pre gig they were in a local hostelry......talking gaelic to each other...i didn't part with the £3 to see them that night either.....although i did part with the £4 to see donnie munro at a hogmonay bash in george square.....snow patrol were also playing.....thats what i call value.
ah, those were the days....when you could drive and park near george square for free have a double espresso in a smart coffee house and a coke, 2 tickets for the open air gig and have change outta tenner. (it was only about 5 years ago!!)
nae wunner they stopped them....mustave been a 'loss leader' for the cooncil.

It was a tad disappointing to hear Freebird and American Pie, in full, once more.

Mind you,in a show which was going to comprise of about ten tracks, giving 20% to repeats is somehow fitting - it kinda sums things up - at least 20% of the output is already repeats along with 20% budget cuts to follow through, we'll be hearing Freebird and American Pie (neither of which I'm fond of, American Pie was turgid in 1972 and it hasn't improved with age) fairly often. It does make you wonder... are there people out there who actually listen to this stuff at home?

A lot of the tracks played tonight were simply self indulgent variants of better appreciated 3:00 pop songs.

Interesting theme 'Songs about the bath'... we'll be on Spotify for that one.
