Loneliness is a thing called...

Chris Evans | 14:07 UK time, Thursday, 30 July 2009

... editing.

The book is totally finished except for one thing. A book is never finished - it can always be better and as long as they say I can tinker I will.

Been tinkering all morning to tell you the truth.

You have to be really hard on yourself and take a knife to anything that may even run the risk of holding the story up.

I spent four days writing one bit that I have just put a red marker pen through. It's good but it's not relevant. Relevance is everything when it comes to telling a tale.

The cutting room floor eh ?

Pass me the dustpan and brush before I change my mind.

By the crin Christoff I'd say the contents of your dustpan will make more sense than my aul ramblings. I'll be needin' a skip if I get as far as editin'. Can't WAIT for the book. I'll be queuein' outside a Waterbombs in me tent to get mine, hurrah.

Any road up guess where I've bin.

Took me car in to get serviced this morning, battled with torrential hailstones, if you please, on the M6/ M62, was like summat off Perfect Storm, expected George Clooney landin' on me bonnet in the sou'wester with a mazzard full a turbot; anyway, got to the garage and guess what. Lightning had struck the phone lines, chaos. Ergo surrounded by firemen, oh hurrah, thinks I. Things are lookin' up. So, quick-thinkin', I threw meself over the shoulder of one of the burly ones and claimed I needed to rescue me cat from the roof. Bugger the flyin' dreams.

And d'you know what. Them seats in the fire engine are a bit slippy, good job I was in the middle.

Best be off; I need to wash this soot off me face.

    Hello everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

Bondy - not been on for a few days but I'm hoping you get some good news.

  • Comment number 63.

Hi James - the BIG job I went for a few weeks ago - I didnt get - but the company I interviewed with have asked me if I would help them on the account with issue management and project management whilst they get their account out of the myre.

This is obviously a potential 'in' for me with this business, as they have lots of similar projects in my field of work, so of course I said yes and now here I am! Initially for a couple of weeks, but it is a good opp for me to show what I can do and then - who knows....

watch this space - so hence I am in Essex!

    Evenin' all..

Just poppin' in to say what a great bloke Ian Wallace was on DT tonight.

Check out his website, v. interesting, simple and no mumbo-jumbo.

I was looking at the sleep paralysis thing. That's another thing that happens to me occasionally; whereby you wake up, feel fully conscious, but can't move a muscle. Not even your eyelids. I've often wondered what that's all about, and have never really had a satisfactory explanation. In fact, I've had a few people tell me it doesn't happen and I've imagined it; well now it all makes perfect sense.

    Cheers Ian. Top man.
