Frankie Boyle! Oh Yeah!

Russell at the apollo was brilliant, as one of the team on mock the week again Russell shines, however this show is weak, which is a shame. I haven't managed to watch a single episode to the end yet. I want it to be good, but it is missing something. Round hole square peg comes to mind. Sorry Russell....

Oh yeah, my favourite is Frankie Boyle, he says the sort of thing that I try not to think.

Frankie Boyle is so dark he makes Darth Vader look like an Asthmatic Supermarket Greeter. He's amazing, but not the best.

Nope. Michael McIntyre is the best stand-up comic. Physically funny looking and so unashamedly posh. There are different genres of stand up though.

Bill Bailey is a brilliant musical comedian. He is more surreal than tinkerbell's pet worm.

The best comic brain is David Mitchell. Everything he says is funny. He's better in panel games than comedic acting though. Hate Peep Show.

Best stand-up comedy character has to be The Pub Landlord. Al 'the voice of the silent majority' Murray has fine tuned 'Guv' to perfection.

That's just my two pen'orth. Just 'cos I'm right, don't argue!

Bill Bailey is utter genius.

I was brought up on people like Russ Abbott, Billy Connelly (when he still did singing instead of stand up) and someone called Dorothy Paul, famous in Glasgow and played the Glasgow wifie with real attitude.

In terms of hero, I'd have to agree with Billy Connolly, just because his was the first stand up show I ever saw. On VHS when I was 12. My parents saw him live and said it was so funny they could barely breathe.

But for the funniest thing I've ever seen, that was probably WitTank in Edinburgh this year. Not stand up, but the best thing I saw there.

I also like Dara O'Briain, Ed Byrne, Jon Richardson and many, many more...

Fav comedians have to be Frankie Boyle, Dara O'Briain, Tim Minchen, Jon Richardson (have only recently discovered him on youtube.com) and Ross Noble. Total legends ... oh and Russell of course :-)

Brilliant to hear you mention Daniel Kitson known to me and my mates simply as "THE KITSON" as he is just a legend. Saw him again (For the umpteenth time) in Norwich recently and had a great night. What a genius..trailing 3 different shows on the same tour ...quality! Booked to see you again in Manchester and Nottingham but is there any chance of you and THE KITSON writing something together? Could probably die a happy man after that night!
