Episode Four. House band: Glenn Ponder and Savoir Faire
Ìý
The setting for the fourth show was Paris, city of French people. For this special show Alan had a French co-host, Nina Vanier.
Alan's first guest: French Chef Philippe Lambert
French Chef Philippe Lambert was wry, spry, crisp and dry. He even brought some nibbles with him. Sadly, as Alan found out later in the show, the main ingredient in these comestibles was bulls testicles. Then came 'KMKY Another Alan Partridge.' The closest they could find in France was a rather bemused Alan Perdrix. Alan gaves the Frenchman a 'tie and blazer badge' combination pack and a specially commissioned painting by a Norwich based artist - a bulldog with frogs legs.
Cirque des Clowns.
Next, Alan expected a bit of light comedy with Cirque des Clowns. What he got was simulated violence and sex acts. Alan was not pleased, especially when they wouldn't leave. The troublesome clowns were warned that a security guard named Steve was waiting backstage to 'hurt' them!
Alan's next guest: Fashion Designer Yvonne Boyd
Next, top international fashion designer from Lancashire Yvonne Boyd came on looking like Widow Twanky. Alan was clearly intrigued with a bit of her outfit which looked like a distributor cap from a Ford Mondeo. To show off his own fashion sense, Alan introduced a section of the show called Alan’s Trades.
Is this the end for Glen Ponder?
From there the show descended into a French hidden buttock agenda. The Models, Yvonne Boyd and Philippe Lambert, seemed to team up against Alan. When Glenn Ponder joined in too, Alan had no choice but sack to him, leaving only the French accordion player to close the show.
