During my time in the service I met Lots of funny characters: one fella was a Londoner and he didn鈥檛 realise that milk (as we know it) comes from a cow. He knew that cows had something to do with it, but he didn鈥檛 know that cows were milked, and was a bit shocked when he found out what he was drinking! I remember thinking how queer it was.

I also remember one fella who said what he missed more than anything was 鈥榡am鈥. He was very fond of jam.

The rest were a mix up of people, all sorts of people, from all sorts of places.
