As far as I was concerned there was never any shortage of food. There was always plenty of cheese, and I鈥檝e always been a great cheese eater so I never went short. We seemed to have plenty of food, others people in civil life were short of it, but I had plenty.
Another thing I used to do was when I went home (I got leave every three months) was take some home 鈥 stock up the cheese and everything at home.
