George Stephenson High School, Killingworth, (North East England) will become a Specialist Humanities College from September 2005. As part of our development of this status, a group of Year 9 Gifted & Talented students have been involved in a cross-curricular writing project, involving english, history and ICT. This project has included making positive links with local senior citizens, parents and grandparents to capture their memories of life during the war years. These memories have been transcribed by our students as powerful stories which will hopefully live on for future generations of local people.
