Stuck in the W.C.

My sister and her non-French-speaking boyfriend were visiting France a couple of years ago. Shortly after they arrived, they went to a cafe for lunch. The boyfriend went to the WC, and when he tried to open the door to leave, he found that the door was stuck and he couldn't get out. He was afraid that if he called for help in English, no-one would understand him, so he tried to think of what he could say in French. After some thought, he figured that "exit" sounds like a French word, so exiter must mean "to go out." (It doesn't!) He began yelling exiter, exiter as loud as he could. The word ±ð³æ³¦¾±³Ùé in French has a completely different meaning, "excited" or "aroused", and any French person who heard him certainly gave him a wide berth. Finally my sister came searching for him, and died laughing when she heard what he was calling out.

Stuck in the toilet shouting the wrong thing. I bet that was embarrasing when he got out :)
