Wash my horses

Some year ago whilst in France, my wife went to the hairdressers and asked, Lavez mes chevaux s'il vous plaît, "please wash my horses" --- think about it Hee hee. She should have said: Lavez-moi les cheveux s'il vous plaît.

Try saying Je veux une coupe. I want a cut, at the hairdresser's it means a hair cut.
In an ice cream parlour, it means a scoop of ice cream in a cup!

I've lived in France for a year now and I still won't go near a hairdresser's for fear of asking them to give my horse a trim!
