Prestwick: A Century in Flight

The end of production of the Jetstream marked the end of a long era at Prestwick, where an industry had built up over a century and had almost disappeared in a few short years at the end. However, the aviation industry still survives in a smaller fashion today, with engine overhaul and component manufacture still very much in evidence, and with the resurgence of the airport, perhaps one day Prestwick-built aircraft may take to the skies once more.
