    The DUP's Simon Hamilton says he topped the poll, not Kellie Armstrong from the Alliance Party who was elected first.

    He says he's happy with his party's performance in Strangford and is confident all three DUP candidates will be returned.

    Veteran Ulster Unionist Danny Kennedy says he is very disappointed, both politically and personally, to lose out on a seat in a constituency which he has represented since 1998.

    Rather philosophically, he says the tide came in and he was washed away. He said this election narrowed and favoured the two big parties.
