The museum has
attracted interest from people living in Japan, Australia and America.
The trustees hope the opening of the museum will raise Great Yarmouth's
profile as a cultural and historic town.
The author Daniel
Defoe described South Quay as "the finest quay in England if
not in Europe" and more than £1.3 million has been spent
on restoring the area over the last three years.
"Yarmouth
has some beautiful heritage and buildings, and
a fascinating history," said Faith Carpenter.
"People
only see the bucket-and-spade and arcade bit of Yarmouth. But if
you come and have a look at the buildings there are some lovely
things to see here.
"This is
a good heritage cluster area. What we're hoping is that people will
come over here for the day, visit a museum in the morning and another
in the afternoon," she added.
