The Reformation and religion in 16th century Britain

Presenter Reverend Peter Owen-Jones describes the fate of Rievaulx Abbey, destroyed in what amounted to a Holy war. He explains religion was an integral part of everyday life in Tudor England and it was simply accepted by people as a part of their routine. England had been Catholic for a thousand years but now great abbeys were utterly destroyed as the Reformation forced its way into every home in the land.
