The Pilgrimage of Grace
This clip shows how the rebellion against Henry VIII's religious changes, known as the Pilgrimage of Grace, sparked off from a small parish church in Louth and spread through the north of England. The rebels and their motives are described, as is the development of the rebellion under Robert Aske. The clip then explores how Henry dealt with the rebellion, by first promising to listen and then brutally suppressing it.
