How did the Reformation change church buildings?
This clip describes how the church changed in Edward VI's reign and the effect the changes had on ordinary people. Everything that smacked of Catholicism was stripped away: paintings, decorations, monuments and statues. The priest's role was downgraded, and to emphasise that priests were just men, they were allowed to marry. The practice of singing hymns and prayers for dead souls was ended, and the miracle of the Mass was destroyed.
