Architect featured in ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two's Building Dream Homes
I have been a practising architect for over thirty years, and the majority of that time has been spent running my own practice or with one or two partners, close to where I live in south west Hertfordshire.
My work has mostly been in Hertfordshire and its adjoining counties. Over the years, what’s made my work so varied is not only the residential alterations and one-off new house builds but the sometimes crazy – and always interesting – listed building & conservation area issues that arise in towns and villages as well as Green Belt planning policies in the countryside.
As an active churchgoer, a significant proportion of my experience has involved projects for churches of various denominations. This has included new buildings as well as alterations and extensions to existing churches — many of them, but by no means all, listed buildings.
In recent years I have obtained additional qualifications in the conservation field, which has led to work on a number of other building types, including a local secondary school. For some years I have been involved in my local branch of the RIBA, the Hertfordshire Association of Architects, and currently serve as Chairman of the Association.
