Rupert and Zoe
Rupert, the youngest Cazalet brother and his wife Zoe.
Rupert (Raymond Coulthard)
Rupert is the youngest Cazalet brother. He gave up his dream of becoming an artist to work in the family firm and give his wife Zoe the life she wanted. Their marriage has come through a lot; Rupert went missing during the war and they both had affairs, but they have reconciled and are now very happy together. Rupert isn鈥檛 a very good businessman; he鈥檚 popular but indecisive and still longs to return to his first love, painting. He鈥檚 envious of his old friend, Archie, who though poor still makes a living through his art.
Zoe (Zoe Tapper)
Zoe was beautiful but selfish and spoilt when she first married Rupert. She was only 23 and found it difficult to be a stepmother to Rupert鈥檚 children by his first marriage. During the war she was left alone when Rupert enlisted and found life increasingly hard. With Rupert returned they were both changed people. They have managed to re-establish their relationship and it is much stronger than in the past. Zoe is now very close to Clary, Rupert鈥檚 daughter by his first marriage, and she is often a sounding board for her problems.
