What a lovely pig, quite the philosophical look in its eye...but then, you probably need to be philosophical if you're going to end up like this:- http://www.flickr.com/photos/22772069@N06 I'm told the chorizo was delicious.

Susie wont be sausages of any kind FC... she's the producer of future sausage materials... & she is a lovely pig, esp where kids are concerned, she's ever so canny & calm around them.

Beautiful pig. What's the breed? # Wife asked me whether the non heated polytunnels on the islands are the walk in kind or the lower height ones, where you have to crawl in. She was surprised when, relaying info. I got on IB, I told her the island poly tunnels were not heated. What's the experience in the islands?

mjc susie is tammy x saddleback . Polytunnel, normal sized walk in height, & they do brilliantly here.

a Tamworth and Saddleback cross (just checked your previous posting, Angela)? What's the benefit of this cross?
mjc from NM,USA
Tammy's tend to run to fat really quick, saddleback has a lot less of a tendency to do this, so using the cross you get wonderfull meat, but not inches of fat.
