India batter Satheesh Shubha, speaking on TNT Sports: "I'm very happy to be here, it's an amazing feeling and I'm really out of words.
"To contribute on debut was fantastic."
On partnership with Jemimah Rodrigues: "We've batted together in U19s so it didn't feel much different. We had a good partnership.
"Maybe a little bit disappointed [not to go on to score a century] but still happy with the score."

"Nobody got a hundred but we had many 100-run partnerships and that speaks about what a team effort looks like.
"I would have loved to have finished with three figures but if you give us this day on debut, I think we would take this any time.
"We're 100% learning and hopefully make a bigger one next time.
"The plan is to bat the same way because we're going at four-plus runs and over. Take it as much as possible so our bowlers have a cushion to come out there and take wickets to put pressure back on England."

It's certainly a good pitch.
England will have to take advantage when they do come to bat.
England struck twice early, first through Lauren Bell and then Kate Cross, at which stage India were 47-2.
India, though, have stuck at it all of the way through and made this a long day for the bowlers.
Shubha Satheesh was very impressive on debut with her 69. Jemimah Rodrigues also made 68, Yastika Bhatia 66 and Deepti Sharma an important 60 not out.
Bhatia was dropped on 15. Had Lauren Bell taken that catch could have been different.
India were also 313-6 before a stand of 92 between Deepti and Sneh Rana.

Deepti Sharma plonks forward in defence and then looks to the dressing room. The thing is there's still 50 seconds left on the clock.
Sophie Ecclestone is going to come on to bowl the last although England need to get all of the protective fielding equipment on too.

It is also India's highest total at home in Tests.
It's looking like this over may be the last. England are not in a rush.

Ah.
England would love one more in these closing moments but instead Lauren Filer serves up a wide full toss. Pooja Vastrakar just hangs her bat out there and the ball flashes away for four.
"A bit early for a Christmas present," says Daggers on the TV comms. Quite.
That partnership between Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana was worth 92. It has probably decided who won this first day.
Pooja Vastrakar is India's number nine with seven minutes to go in the day.

It’s the equivalent of asking a runner whose event is the 800m to perform at the same rate in a 10k.
