  3. I pity the fool that don't watch curlingpublished at 02:15 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2022

As regular Winter Olympics followers will know, TV hard man Mr T, who played BA Baracus in 80s show The A-Team and Clubber Lang in Rocky 3, loves his curling.

But he's not watching the Britain v Switzerland match as his focus is on the clash between ROC (Russian Olympic Committee) and the United States, with the US 4-1 up in that one.

Elsewhere, it's 3-3 in the match between Denmark and China, while Japan are leading 3-1 against Sweden.

  4. 'A great start'published at 02:13 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2022

Curling - Great Britain 1-2 Switzerland (after five ends)

    Rhona Howie
Olympic gold medallist curler on ´óÏó´«Ã½ TV

It’s a really strong performance from Britain in the first five, they’ve played well and it’s as though Switzerland are running a bit scared of them and are not taking them on.

It’s the first Olympic Games for three of the British team, they looked relaxed and they are communicating well.

    It’s a great start.

    Thomas Duncan

In a match as tight as this, a score of two in an end may prove decisive, hence Eve Muirhead's desire to retain the hammer over levelling at 2-2.

Curling - Great Britain 1-2 Switzerland (after five ends)

It's a blank end in the fifth, but Eve Muirhead is happy with that as it means Britain retain the hammer for the sixth and at the halfway mark Switzerland hold a 2-1 lead.

"Great shot" is the call as a stone from Britain's Vicky Wright aims to take two Swiss yellow stones out of the house - and she nails it.

Another tight and tense end, two stones left for both sides.

Iran's Saveh Shemshaki has become the first athlete to return a positive doping test at the Winter Olympics.

The 36-year-old has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for an anebolic steroid in Beijing on Monday.

He returned an "adverse analytical finding" in an out-of-competition test.

The International Testing Agency (ITA) said Shemshaki, who was due to compete at his third Games, could appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and to "request the analysis of the B-sample".

An ITA statement read: "The athlete has been informed of the case and has been provisionally suspended until the resolution of the matter in line with the World Anti-Doping Code and the IOC Anti-Doping Rules applicable to the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.

"This means that the athlete is prevented from competing, training, coaching, or participating in any activity, during the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022."

Britain are playing well and they are forcing Switzerland to make errors.

  12. Postpublished at 01:58 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2022

Curling - Great Britain 1-2 Switzerland (after four ends)

Switzerland retake the lead in the fourth end, but it is just the one stone and Britain will be reasonably happy with that and that nudges the score to 2-1 after four of 10 ends.

Curling - Great Britain 1-1 Switzerland (after three ends)

    Steve Cram

They’re still warming up, there’s been quite a lot of half-shots.

Nobody is nailing it exactly where they want to put the stone.

Curling - Great Britain 1-1 Switzerland (after three ends)

With two stones left for both side in the fourth end, there's just the one Swiss stone in the house.

You get the feeling one bad end from either side could well be the difference between winning and losing.

The current world champion - Germany's Christopher Grotheer - is the early leader at Yanqing National Sliding Centre.

Latvian Martins Dukurs, who has won the World Cup a staggering 11 times, is 0.62 seconds slower and currently in fourth place.

He didn't complete all his training runs. Not sure if he's nursing an injury or felt he already had the measure of the course.

Britain's Matt Weston is up next and a few errors result in him being 1.34 seconds off the leader in the first run.

A huge run from Sena Tomita puts her top of the pile with a huge score of 86.00. This is where it starts to get interesting as the big names drop in for the their first run.

Cai Xuetong, Mitsuki Ono and Chloe Kim are on their way shortly.

Not the greatest of starts for Japan's Ruki Tomita.

She finished runner-up in this season's halfpipe World Cup rankings but just stacked it on her first run as she went up the side of the pipe. Early nerves?

Her sister, Sena, is also competing in this final.
