Biography
´óÏó´«Ã½ One sweetheart Alex Jones has been co-hosting The One Show since 2010. She has become a household name, and one of the most recognisable faces on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ in 2011.
Having trained in Ballet as a child as well as having watched co-host Matt Barker in the competition last year, will Alex dance her way to victory and take home the Strictly crown?
Career
Alex first appeared on our screens as a contestant on the Sky One show Prickly Heat! hosted by Davina McCall.
After graduating from Aberystwyth University, Jones started her career by working as a TV Researcher, but it wasn't long before she was in front of the cameras presenting shows on the Welsh language television channel S4C. For more than a decade she hosted shows on the channel such as Tocyn, a travel series offering alternative holidays, Chwa, an extreme sports series and Salon, a style and fashion programme.
She also co-hosted with rugby legend Jonathan Davies during the 2010 Six Nations Championship, and was a regular presenter on Real Radio GMG, Wales' largest commercial station.
In July 2010, the ´óÏó´«Ã½ announced that Alex would become the new female co-host on The One Show, replacing Christine Bleakley. She has been co-presenting the flagship programme now for a year, first with Jason Manford and subsequently with Strictly's own finalist Matt Baker.
Alex also co-presented 2011's Let's Dance for Comic Relief with Steve Jones, replacing Claudia Winkleman, as well as being part of the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s Royal Wedding coverage, reporting live from Kate Middleton's hometown.
