Biography
Dan Lobb is 39. He is a British TV presenter and a former professional tennis player.
He has presented on both Sky Sports and GMTV and from September 2011 will be the Friday host of ITV's breakfast show Daybreak, alongside Kate Garraway.
Career
Dan played tennis professionally for 3 years and in that time he climbed to 18th in the British ranking. He also claims to have once beaten Tim Henman. After retiring in 1998 he went on to coach.
He began presenting on Sky Sports in 2002, presenting mostly on Sky Sports News. He left the station in 2008. In May 2009, Dan became a sports presenter on Sky News.
Dan joined GMTV in 2010 as their Sports Correspondent and then Sports Editor on the show's replacement Daybreak.
Even though Dan is no longer a professional tennis player, presenting on Daybreak has allowed him to play against Anna Kournikova, former Strictly contestant Martina Hingis, and Boris Becker.
Background
Dan grew up just outside Winchester, Hampshire.
He studied Biology, Chemistry and Economics before accepting a tennis scholarship to the University of Tennessee in the USA.
He graduated from the School of Business with high honours.
Trivia
In December 2010, Dan tricked co-host Kate into kissing him on the lips under the mistletoe. She went to kiss him on the cheek and he turned his head at the last moment.
He is a keen 'tweeter' with 41,000 followers on Twitter.
Dan was once caught eating his breakfast while presenting the sports news.
