Dancers in NeedYou are in: Suffolk > Children in Need > Dancers in Need > Dancers in Need blog: Thursday, 9 October Dancers in Need blog: Thursday, 9 OctoberBy Mark Murphy What have I let myself in for? Over the years I've done all sorts of things to raise money for Children in Need but this is by far the toughest! I've always been quite envious of people who can grab a partner and whirl them around the dancefloor. They make it seem so easy. It's now starting to dawn on me what lies ahead for the next few weeks: hard work, aches, pains and plenty of sweat. Plus maybe a few tears too! Not that I should be too worried as I have a fantastic partner in Lauren. She's great fun and (at the moment anyway) is very patient with me. I just don't want to let her down. It is such slow going as I struggle to remember the steps for the various dances. So far we've only tackled the waltz and cha cha cha, goodness knows what will happen when I tackle the jive and what was the other one??? It's all a bit of a blur at the moment and I'm struggling to find my hips - I'm certainly no Mark Ramprakash! I feel a bit like Austin Powers when he lost his mojo. Thing is I don't think I've ever had one let alone lost it. I do have my shoes now though and I'll be hoping they make me a little lighter on my feet. Lesley Dolphin is taking this VERY seriously and could be my top tip but hopefully with Lauren's help we'll give the wife a run for her money! last updated: 13/11/2008 at 01:10 Have Your Say
