A traditional harvest

This unit of two dance sessions is inspired by the theme of Autumn and harvest-time around 100 years ago. The dances are set to traditional folk tunes and include elements of folk dances, such as turns and spins. In the first session there are extended sequences exploring picking apples and storing them in barrels. Then in the second session the children will be cutting the corn - the way it used to be done 100 years ago with sickles - to create a reaping dance.
