Where is he now?
Series 7 saw Dani's mum take custody of his kids, so without them Joe decided to move away.
He was attracted to Owen and took a risk in starting a relationship with him, as he usually carried on his affairs away from Bryncoed, but he wasn't looking for love in the same way that Owen was.
He was desperate for another child with his wife Danni, and when she became pregnant at the end of Series 2 she gave him a subtle ultimatum. It was time to give up his double life - but could he do it?
By the end of series 3, Joe realised he couldn't keep living a double life, and so left for London. Returning to see his kids, he then set about trying to detach Danni from Andy because he thought he was a bad influence and bad for his kids. When Dani died he didn't hesitate to move into her old house and be single father to the kids, even though that wasn't what he had bargained for.
In Series 6 Joe was after justice - from Robbie. He wanted compensation for the death of his wife, and was quick to guilt-trip Ceri into helping him with a testimony in court. He made it clear that she was either for or against him.
Joe was attracted to Ceri's warmth and humour, and when the chance to start something arose, he took it. While Ceri was simply on the rebound from Robbie, for Joe it was deeper - he really liked her, and she was great with the kids, too! Things didn't work out as Joe wanted, and when Ceri cooled off and refused to testify, Joe lost his chance at compensation and was back to square one.
He found new help and romance in an old place - Owen. After a threesome with Tanya, Joe knew he was onto a good thing, and made a play for Owen properly.
In Series 7, Joe was working hard and playing hard as a bar man and strip-o-gram, while Owen baby-sits the kids. He still had a roving eye, and his new job offred ample opportunity for practice. By the end of Series 7, Dani's Mum takes custody of the kids and without them Joe decides to move away.
