London Calling From its gloomy Dickensian past to its current status as a global financial centre, London is a city with many faces. Millions of tourists visit the city each year for its history, culture and vibrant atmosphere.
London is the largest city in Europe and home to over 7 million people of every nationality and religion. Did you know that a quarter of the city's population were born outside of Britain? In this season we meet some of the communities that live in London, asking who they are, why they come to London, and how they get along with each other. Also we look at the daily life for Londoners, from commuting to crime and the cost of living, and how the city is changing in the 21st century. We explore the city's history and meeting the personalities who shaped what it is today. And try to find out what makes London tick - sampling the food, culture, sports and music.
