Where do you live/ where are you from? What's it like?
I'm not really "from" anywhere! I've lived all over the USA, because my dad's in the military. I've lived everywhere from Alaska to New York. I live in Seattle, Washington currently. It's quite nice here, not too hot, not too cold. And if there's one thing I can appreciate, it's a mild climate.
How old are you?
I'm 17, which makes me significantly younger than any of the other writers. Someone has to represent the teenage demographic, I suppose.
What do you do? And is there something else you'd rather be doing?
I don't do anything in particular. I'm mostly just a college student. If I could pick one thing I'd rather be doing, I would pick "making a movie". And for once I can say that I'm actually doing that, which is a little bit insane. It's all very overwhelming.
What are your hobbies/likes/interests?
My interests include but are not limited to: reading, drawing stick figures, eating carrots, thinking about doing interesting things but not actually doing them (out of pure laziness), obsessively watching Doctor Who, playing with matches, sleeping, expanding my DVD collection, getting gifts (they're free!!!!), Morrissey, looking at cute pictures of animals, swearing, going to the beach and not swimming in the ocean (SHARKS!!!!!!!), and using more exclamation marks than are necessary to get my point across.
What's the strangest thing you do on a regular basis?
Well, I do this one thing where every Saturday night I help run an underground male-only boxing club. Or that could just be in my head.
How did you get involved in the 'online community'? Are your internet friends 'real' friends?
I guess I got involved in the online community through Myspace. I'm not on Myspace all that much anymore, though I have met some really great people there who are definitely my "real" friends. The notion that people cannot really be friends over the internet is a preposterous one in my opinion. Sometimes people ask, "Aren't you afraid your internet friends aren't who they say they are?" And that is a valid thing to be worried about. However, the internet is a great place (especially for the socially awkward and shy) to be yourself. It is much easier to be yourself when you are not face to face with a person. The internet makes clear some of the faults of human beings - one of those faults being that we are perpetually awkward and generally afraid to be vulnerable. When you're talking to a person on the internet, especially through an instant messenger, they know nothing else about you beside what you tell them. And through that, you can form a friendship based on words, based on conversation, not judgment of appearance or anything else - which to me is an amazing thing. OK, I'm done being all serious now. Seriousness is bad for one's complexion
Is this your first film project? Would you consider yourself a professional, an amateur, a complete beginner? Rate yourself.
I suppose I am a complete beginner. As for rating myself, I would give myself an A++, because two pluses are better than one. But three pluses are better than two pluses AND one plus, so I suppose I'll give myself an A+++.
What's the best film ever made? What's the best horror film ever made, and why?
Without a doubt, the best film ever made is Caddyshack. The best horror film ever made is also Caddyshack. I'm not sure how popular Caddyshack is in the UK, so sorry if you're lame and don't know what I'm talking about. Also, The Dark Knight was an amazing, amazing film.
What's your motivation for writing?
My motivation for writing is getting all the crap that's stuck in my head, out.
What's the best thing you've ever written?
Scene 3 of the Internet Zombie Movie
What's the worst thing you've ever written?
As a teenager, one is obligated to write crappy teen poetry at least once. When I was twelve, I obliged and wrote some poetry. It wasn't quite as bad as Vogon poetry, but it was close. I'm glad I grew out of that fairly quickly. Also, yes, I DID just make a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy reference. I am just that cool.
Why are you taking part in the Internet Zombie Movie?
Fame, fortune, practice, boredom…? FORTUNE! No, I'm doing it because I want too, because it seems like a good opportunity. I love movies more than I love my family. Not really, but you know.
What one scene are you determined to include in the film?
The one where the entire cast of the show "Friends" turns into zombies and are killed one by one, firing-squad style. I dislike Friends with a passion.
