People skills
People skills are generally examples of soft skills. They can include the following.
Working in a team
This means understanding everyone鈥檚 roles and responsibilities and promoting positive relationships by using appropriate behaviours including cooperatingWorking together for a common pursuit or benefit., compromiseSettling an argument by adjusting requirements or changing an opinion in order to come to an agreement., encouragementSupporting and giving confidence. and being respectful.
Openness
Openness means being able to behave and communicate honestly with different types of people. It is the opposite of hiding information from others.
Speaking
This is a skill that involves being able to present information confidently and clearly to people. It could be on a one-to-one basis or to a large group of people.
Persuasion
Persuasion means being able to get others to support your ideas or proposals.
Leadership
This is the ability to communicate and lead others to a goal or vision. Leaders are able to persuade others and bring about change or positive results.
Active listening
People with this skill are able to listen without interrupting. This means they are able to give full attention to what someone else is saying. They may ask questions and think carefully about what is being said so they understand.
