Using computers at work
Description
Watch some examples of how computers are used day-to-day by ordinary people. They are used in shops, for taking photographs, in sport, for making music and films, to help us to learn, in aeroplanes and for going into space. What do you use your computer for?
Classroom Ideas
After watching this clip, the class could play a bingo-style game. From a list, the children can pick three places where a computer is used, or the teacher could have ready-made cards. The places could include school, a library, a shop, a photography studio, a cinema, a swimming pool, an airport, a travel agency, a hospital, a factory and a restaurant. The teacher describes how a computer is used in the different places, and the winner is the first person to identify all three of their places.
