Their first dog Petra died after a week and was replaced with a lookalike, probably with one they had prepared earlier, so as not to upset the nations children. I mean how could they ever be trusted again. They just spouted a load of elephant poo!

THURSDAY - Asked for 'Down At The Twist And Shout' - Mary Chapin Carpenter last time this theme was done - was discussed on air and 'disallowed' due to it not meeting the criteria i.e. it mentioned a type of dance in the title but wasn't really about dancing - wrong!...it's very much about dancing...about "being out in the middle of a big dance floor", finding a two-step partner and a Cajun beat etc. etc. Norrie's requested it before and it'd be great to hear it on GIO.

Failing that - Burlesque (Family) is dancing...of a sort. Scared to mention that actually...don't want JFE getting over-excited like he was last Wednesday :0)

Thanks GIO team - whoever thought up tonight's theme has sentenced me to sleepless nights worrying about whether or not I've taken the plugs out downstairs, left the washing machine on, will the new boiler blow up, will one of the cats spontaniously combust?

Now I'm even more bad-tempered than usual and have eye-bags down to my chin just with the thought of a fire since my records are at the back of the blasted cupboard under the stairs...and I don't even have a turntable to play them on!!!

Oh! what's that?...don't take it too literally - CDs would be fine? They're much easier to lay hands on. That's allright then. Phew!

After a bit of thought (well, I had time didn't I...lying awake in my bed, waiting for the smoke alarm) I'll plump, not for anything by, probably my most favourite artiste, Ian Dury, or for the happy-making ska records, not for anything sentimental from my Dad's collection of deleted bargain-bin LPs, not my well-worn punk collection or the LP of Girl Guide songs I have somehow managed not to throw out, or something classical (Schubert perhaps) but 'SONGS TO REMEMBER' by SCRITTI POLITTI. It's worth it for the song 'Faithless' but I like every track on the album anyway...I used to have it in vinyl but a friend borrowed it and liked it so much he took it to Australia with him when he emigrated so I've bought it in CD form too. I would like to hear either 'Faithless' or 'Asylums In Jerusalem'
