good, here's a few howling at the moon records.
Blue Moon - Bob Dylan however unlikely, this is fabby.
Tubas In The Moonlight - Bonzo Dog Doo Dah band endlessly requested, never played.
The Moon Is Mine - Fairground Attraction with a career now focussed on other things it's easy to forget how great a singer Eddie is.
the Moonbeam Song - Harry Neilsson just lovely
Spanish Moon - Little Feat impossible to resist this, once heard, never forgotten
Moonrise - Nitin Sawhney beautiful samba stuff, Adam
and now: reasons to love Paul Mccartney No 38: the loony vocals on
Monkberry Moon Delight - Paul McCartney
Mojo says " Paul reaches a career high in soulful, screeching nonsence on the Ram album's delicious obscurity." If you thought 1985 sounded different, hear this.
that'll do

one of the best comes under the category of 'posting a letter in the dead of night'.
with a post box three quarters of a mile away then a nightime sojourn with the dog is a pleasure.
especially if the sky is clear.
and the stars are out.i had never seen the milky way properly before living on an island.it's a sight to behold and to gaze at.
during this walk you may see on a bad night half a dozen shooting stars then another half dozen on the return walk.
the view of the planets also humbling.
one night i stepped into the garden looked up and saw the most incredible light formation i'de ever seen.............in the garden you have a 360 degree uninterrupted view and there were these shafts of light being thrown up from all 360 degrees converging at a point directly above.....it was like standing under some unexplained immense natural cathedral....i've only ever seen that once and i was awestruck and still am years later.
once sitting on the garden wall i saw what looked like a star zooming a bit too quickly over the south west sky....it wasn't a star, only the international space station....checking its trajectory i went out the next night and sure enough bang on schedule it passed overhead again. amazing.
the sky at night. its a real joy.
'swinging on a star'..................big dee irwin and little eva
'a bright star in cepheus'............cunningham/bain ( go on the nation needs a real treat)
'star'...................gerry rafferty
'under the milky way'...................the church

I think it's a brave thing for the show to do.I instinctively wish to support it - I couldn't find the ticketing thing though.
I've spent years enduring Tam O'Shanter and all this drivel about the world's first socialist - annually,in a business capacity. So it would be nice to witness the GIO alternative.
I think the show should develop the idea though - it's been raised on the blog before but I'd love to go to something more pertinent to the show - a Leonard Cohen or Bob Dylan or John Lennon or Morrissey supper.
I knew a guy who attended a Leonard Cohen supper on Burns night and he said it was absolutely brilliant.
Maybe if the GIO Burns supper works well,Miss B and the team will be brave enough to expand the idea to songwriting 'Burns' suppers next year - matter of fact, why wait till next year - do it in the Spring?
