Chris Evans | 09:59 UK time, Thursday, 30 November 2006

Made Spag Carbonara last night, River Caf茅 style, it was so nice I had to make a second portion from scratch and I鈥檇 already washed up! Quick recipe鈥

SMOE DAY I'LL WISH UPON A STAR AND WAKE UP WHERE THE CLOUDS ARE FAR BEHIND MEEEEE !

Chris Evans | 09:47 UK time, Wednesday, 29 November 2006

I now have a head cold, my head feels like a ton weight. When I cough it feels like my head鈥檚 going to burst. High blood pressure, sagging skin, failing eyes, diminishing libido, none of these things bothered me as a kid. All I wanted was a new Snoopy poster, though when I think about it I鈥檓 not sure why.

Why was Snoopy so successful anyway ? Come on cards on the table, why ?

Was Snoopy America鈥檚 version of鈥

GRADE EXPECTATIONS

Chris Evans | 07:41 UK time, Tuesday, 28 November 2006

SIR CLIFF鈥橲 IN MY HEAD AND HE WON鈥橳 COME OUT.

Wired for sound鈥nside, outside, I feel so ecstatic, now it鈥檚 music I鈥檝e found and I鈥檓 wired for sound鈥a, la, la, la, ahhhhhhh.

Had chicken butties in bed last night. Hey, I know it鈥檚 wrong but it was such a busy day and when I arrived home I was simply starving. Enzo on the bed, succulent over buttered moist chicken butties, plenty of salt and pepper, the crossword and a cup of steaming herbal tea, bliss achieved once again.

So Sir Michael Grade has jumped ship, nothing to worry about only something to look forward to...

IT鈥橲 NICE AND TOASTIE IN BED, I REALLY DON鈥橳 WANT TO GET OUT.

Chris Evans | 08:57 UK time, Monday, 27 November 2006

Clean white cotton sheets, the fluffiest of quilts and a dreamless, still and beautiful night tell me to stay in bed for the rest of my life. The wrinkles would disappear, one might even become thin, it wouldn鈥檛 matter if one went bald, no one would see you. The world and it鈥檚 worries could wait outside your door for as they liked, for such trivial things matter not to a 鈥渂ed bug!鈥

I know I have to get up, I can only remain the incumbent of my pit for the time it takes me to compose what is known as The Monday Blog and after that it鈥檚 time to face the music. What tricks and little games have you for staying in bed for, 鈥渏ust another few minutes?鈥

The weekend really was鈥

MATE ON THE SOFA.

Chris Evans | 08:32 UK time, Friday, 24 November 2006

The mighty WEBBO, a rock of a friend, is flat out sparko on the sofa. Last night was our once-a-month-club, where the mighty WEBBO, myself and a posh boy called GARETH, he鈥檚 really nice and very very funny, get together on an uncancellable, immovable basis. The O.A.M.C never fails to deliver, the dynamic is perfect, the conversation always robust and the most important ingredient is鈥

THE BRITS AREN鈥橳 COMING. NOT FOR ME AT LEAST, WELL IT鈥橲 NOT OFFICIAL BUT I鈥橫 JUST TAKING A WILD GUESS.

Chris Evans | 08:41 UK time, Thursday, 23 November 2006

I will not be hosting The Brits this year. How do I know ? Well I don鈥檛 really it鈥檚 just that normally they鈥檝e told you by now but they haven鈥檛, so I can only suppose I鈥檓 not. Truth be told I don鈥檛 think I should anyway, I think they should be hosted by some bright young thing. That鈥檚 the whole idea of the Brits. They should be a celebration of youthful abandon and energy, not a cosy succession of quid pro quos, where the industry feels good about itself at the cost of everyone else.

Here鈥檚 what else I think鈥

WOW LOOK AT THAT AUTUMN LIGHT.

Chris Evans | 08:49 UK time, Wednesday, 22 November 2006

I鈥檓 lying in my bed and the light outside the window refuses to be ignored. It鈥檚 pure gold, speckled with leaves of green enjoying their proudest moment of the year, they know their time is almost up and are making the most of every last second. There isn鈥檛 a breath of air. The little girl downstairs has just shouted to her mum,

鈥淕oodbye mummy I love you.鈥

What a lovely start to hump day鈥

MONDAY WAS FULL AS AN EGG AND SO WAS I AND DHERE鈥橲 WHY !

Chris Evans | 07:57 UK time, Tuesday, 21 November 2006

Please don鈥檛 feel like I鈥檝e lost the plot or anything, although I obviously have in many ways, but this week I have a chef who鈥檚 moved in for the week to show me how to cook what through each day and at the right time, in order to lead a good and healthy, happy and scrummy life. Yesterday our menu for Monday started off surprisingly with鈥

DEM GIRLS, DEM GIRLS, DEM DAMN GIRLS !

Chris Evans | 09:37 UK time, Monday, 20 November 2006

I say, how the devil goes it this morn. ? How was the period we call the weekend ? Did it serve it鈥檚 purpose or has it left you bereft of something or other ? We had a massive mummy and food weekend, Heston鈥檚 twenty four hour steak, we did it ! And the catsup created from an eighteenth century recipe which involved extracting the juices of a kilo and a half of mushrooms overnight, we did that too ! The process involves placing the mushies in a thin pillow case, covering them in salt and hanging them over a bowl, dangling from an old bootlace tethered to a hole in a beam, after only a minute or two, it鈥檚 drip drip drip for the rest of the day. The result is a ridiculously small amount of a dark brown, almost black liquid, saltier than the saltiest anchovy after he鈥檚 been for a night out on the salt with Harry Saltzman.

So that was a lot of went on at the weekend, there was some swimming and a couple of crosswords and then it was back to London last night for an early start this morning. Having arrived back early evening in plenty of time I thought it might be a good idea to try get to see James Bond again ...

TO KNOCK THROUGH OR NOT TO KNOCK THROUGH, THAT IS THE QUESTION

Chris Evans | 13:18 UK time, Friday, 17 November 2006

Happy Friday people. Ridiculously happy, can鈥檛 stop smiling.

What about those generous angels that gave us so much money for Children In Need? Absolute heroes, every one of them. Haven鈥檛 stopped thinking about how to make their night so special. Have a load of brilliant ideas. I鈥檓 thinking about making it an annual event.

MY GOODNESS ME, I THINK I HAVE IT.

Chris Evans | 09:38 UK time, Thursday, 16 November 2006

Listening to Sir Tel at the peak of his powers at the moment. It鈥檚 such a pleasure to know him and be a colleague of his. Come a-foraging in the country with us, all in aid of CHILDREN IN NEED ! Ha ha. Listen to tonight鈥檚 show for a surprise bonus item and a good time guaranteed.

Now last night I had a thought鈥

HUMP HUMP HOORAY

Chris Evans | 09:08 UK time, Wednesday, 15 November 2006

So I was in this bar and I saw Chris Tarrant, so he says to me am I doing the Nike 30 k bike ride around London to which I reply,

鈥淭his is the first I鈥檝e heard about it, I didn鈥檛 even know there was such a thing !鈥

He said, in his wibble wobble way.

鈥淥h, yeh it starts in half an hour, come on drink up I鈥檒l get you in.鈥

At which point he downed a huge glass of scotch on the rocks and showed me outside to where he had a car waiting. The first odd thing I noticed was his driver鈥

I FEEL A CERTAIN WASH OF CONTENTMENT FLOWING OVER THE SHORES OF MY SKIN

Chris Evans | 08:16 UK time, Tuesday, 14 November 2006

Good Tuesday to you one and all. I awake once again with a big furry German on my bed. Enzo is having another of his weeks in London. He鈥檚 the one soul I鈥檝e met that actually becomes calmer when he leaves the country for the heady confusion of the metropolis. He seems to revel in the mystery of it all.

An post holiday thought鈥

FIRST IT WAS DAVID CAMERON NOW IT鈥橲 DANIEL CRAIG

Chris Evans | 09:11 UK time, Monday, 13 November 2006

This was the year I turned forty, no big deal, actually I quite enjoyed it and am still doing so, there鈥檚 something reassuring about it. This was the year I started my beloved drive time show, the best job I鈥檝e ever had. This was the year I finally began to accept the un-understandility of girls, what a relief that was. This was the year I gave up trying to get my mum to tell me what she puts in her delicious hot pot that makes it taste so unbelievable This was the year I found the flat I have always wanted. This was the year I learnt to forage. This was the year I embraced technology, acquiring a mobile phone and starting this blog. This, in short, has been a blimin鈥 great year, an absolute belter.
