1. Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen (24th June) A $200 million dollar budget - that's $50 million MORE than the last movie - guarantees that this will be the most explosive film of the Summer. Prepare for jaws to drop.
2. Public Enemies (3rd July) Johnny Depp (pictured) and Christian Bale play opposite sides of the law in this historical blockbuster about America's crime-wave in the 1930s. It's gonna be intense.
3. Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince (17th July) We've waited since November (when it was unceremoniously pulled from the schedule) so the buzz around HP6 is fit-to-burst. As Voldemort draws ever closer, the corridors of Hogwarts are awash with rumours, tales...and romance.
4. Terminator: Salvation (1st June) Set in 2018, Christian Bale is the saviour of the human race John Connor. But as machines get ever more complex in their bid to take over the planet, this salvation ain't gonna be easy.
5. Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs (July 1st) The storyline may be about Sid, Diego and Manny discovering dinosaur eggs but I'm just glad that Scrat the squirrel is back - and this time, finds lurve...
She's probably one of the most famous youngsters around the world is that there Miley Cyrus.
We headed to the dreaded junket' (posh term for an interview to have our 12.3 minutes with Miley) and I have to say she is a pro. Polite and funny although did talk about 130 mph.
I got the feeling that she'd grown up a lot quicker than your average teenager and may have lost a chunk of her life before she's lived it.
That aside we did get a lovey goody bag with loads of items with Mileys/Hannahs face on. I kept the tootbrush that plays a tune while you brush your teeth and gave the rest away to her fans waiting outside.
Miley Cyrus does her Face / Voice combo
We have never had so much excitement about a guest, EVER. Ed Westwick plays Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl which i've just recently gotten into. Girls were cancelling holidays, selling their souls to the devil and the rest to get the chance to hang with the man. He smelled lovely and very pleasant young man to hang out with. He can come again.
You don't know how long i have waited to interview this man. Ok so it wasn't in person but at least I got to talk to him.
Seth Rogen is a bit of a God in my world, some of my mates have a little bit of a crush on him, but my love is purely professional. I'm a big fan of his work!!!
Now this might look a bit strange but that kind of suits him, I'm in Radio 1 and he's in L.A but we are both being filmed. So by the powers of technology here is the interview in video format with him on the phone to me but being filmed.
I know weird but GREAT.
Enjoy and go see his film Observe and Report. Funny but Dark. x
State Of Play - Tight political thrills with Russell Crowe as the hungry journo investigating the death of a Congressman's lover. Strong stuff, especially from the awesome Rachel McAdams (above, with Russ) and Dame Helen Mirren. 4 stars.
Observe & Report - Seth Rogen is shockingly funny in this fabulously filthy tale of a security guard who dreams of being a cop. Its darker second half does throw things a little off-centre tho...3 stars.
The Uninvited - Slick and pretty scary thriller, starring Emily Browning as the straight-outta-rehab teen who thinks her mother was murdered by her dad's new girlfriend. Forgettable but fun. 3 stars.
Outlander - Seriously boring sci-fi-meets-Vikings film. I know - that should be amazing. But like its star Jim Caviezel, this takes itself waaaay too seriously when really it should be playing up to its ridiculous premise. 2 stars.
Shifty - Gritty Brit thriller about two old friends wheeling and dealing on the streets of suburbia. Low budget but big drama. Check it out. 4 stars.
1. Bruce Willis as John McClane in Die Hard 1-4 (above): Baldie Bruce has never been better as the ultimate weatherbeaten, hard-boiled, sarcastic cop who has a habit of being around when trouble looms.
2. Simon Pegg as Nicholas Angel in Hot Fuzz: Simon, Nick and director Edgar's comedy homage to macho cop pics hits the nail right on the head. Genius.
3. Frances McDormand is Marge Gunderson in Fargo: yep, she's a little eccentric (and with a rather 'special' Minnesotta accent) but under Marge's homespun exterior is a hungry crime-fighter. A classic Coen Brothers comedy thriller.
4. Peter Weller is Robocop in Robocop: Its 80s excess may now look a bit dated but Robocop's message about dealing with crime still packs a punch. Check the remake next year.
5. Leslie Nielsen is Frank Drebin in The Naked Gun 1-3: The most inept cop ever. Since Leslie was a veteran of 'serious' movies in the 60s and 70s he was a natural to send-up the deadpan moodiness of cop movies.
I am stuffed!
We were bang on with what to feed Simon Pegg on our Lunch Date today, scotch eggs, pie and mash and sticky toffee pudding. It was a win win situation, I always knew it would be because I love Mr Pegg.
What a lovely chap who does a very good Scottish accent in Star Trek. The film is massively awesome and it's out next Friday. Before then why not listen back to Simon talk about, well lots of things...enjoy.
Now if you fancy a little bit of twisty/turny conspiracy thriller you might wanna point yourself in the direction of State Of Play.
It stars Rusty Crowe as a Washington journo convinced he's onto a big political story whilst Ben Affleck is his best mate, a senator who might just hold all the answers.
Big names for sure, but for my money it's Rachel McAdams (from The Notebook) who steals the show as Russ's work hungry colleague.
Throw in a legendary Dame: Helen Mirren, as a stressed out newspaper editor and you've got a slice of butt-clenching movie class. Here's an exclusive clip...
I Love You, Man - Hilarious 'bromance' with Paul Rudd as a the girly husband-to-be desperately looking for a new blokey mate to be his Best Man. Enter uber-slob Jason Segel...(that's them with Edi Bow) 4 stars
In The Loop - Big laughs and loadsa swearing in this political satire about a bumbling MP who finds himself causing havoc on both sides of the Atlantic. From the team that made TV show The Thick Of It. 4 stars
Crank 2: High Voltage (cert.18) - Jason Statham returns as wideboy Chev Chelios, recovered from poisoning but now discovering he's had his heart stolen and replaced with a mechanical one. Er...right. Seriously, the cartoonish/anarchic style of this pic is outta this world. Dumb but amazing. 5 stars.
Not a Trek fan? Well, let's cut to the chase here - IT DOESN'T MATTER. Star Trek is the sci-fi movie you've always dreamed of, fan or no fan.
Mixing the explosive bombast of Transformers with the time-travelling twists of The Terminator films, it's a majestic mix of old-school space adventure with 2009 guts. You can't help but watch it and think of those original Star Wars movies, how they combined action with a real sense of epic drama - Trek does all that but without the 70s haircuts. You just wish it had been director JJ Abrams to reboot Annakin and friends back in the 90s instead of boring beardy George Lucas
Plot-wise, Trek has plenty going on. We see the origins of its lead characters, cocky James T Kirk and uber-serious Mr Spock (Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto), as well as Eric Bana's mentallist bad-guy Romulan called Nero, who travels back in time to get his revenge of the nice guys of the Federation. Abrams handles monumental moments with suitable reverence - the first shot of the starship Enterprise, the crew getting 'beamed up'
- yet also knows when to take the mick and show this isn't just for geeks. Spock's trademark deadpan has never been funnier.
Speaking of Spock, the original actor to play the half-Vulcan, Leonard Nimoy, makes an appearance that's way more than just a novelty. The old-timer ties everything together beautifully, giving Trek emotional weight that's rare in sci-fi. The fact that the movie can mix those tears with gags, FX, romance, great acting and a real sense of its own epic history makes it a night out with pretty much everything. Even Simon Pegg's Scottish accent works. For Trekkers around the world that's a big relief (and the best film of the series) For non-fans it's just a massively fun night out - what more could you ask for? 5 stars.
Do you see what I did there?
We were very lucky girls today to have a Lunch Date with Hugh Jackman, he was here for a whole hour.
Ask me anything about him and I'll try and answer it honestly, yes he is beautiful. Taller than you think, charming and from the story he told about proposing to his wife, possibly the most romantic man in the universe.
Have a listen and swoon x
1. Night At The Museum (571 million dollars worldwide) Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson (that's them, over there) star alongside a who's who of comedy (Gervais, Williams, Rudd, Coogan) in this family caper that's officially the biggest comedy ever!
2. Home Alone (534 million) Like all great comedies, the premise is simple - a kid outwits the bad guys. But 'ickle Macauley Culkin's deadpan brilliance took the laughs to a whole other level.
3. Bruce Almighty (459 million) Sometimes we don't want sophistication. Sometimes we don't want wit. Sometimes we just want Jim Carrey mucking about. Bruce Almighty was one of those times.
4. Meet The Fockers (433 million) Personally I preferred its predecessor Meet The Parents but the one-upmanship between Stiller and 'Bobby' De Niro is still comedy gold.
5. Mrs Doubtfire (423 million) Men dressing up as women = always hilarious. Fact.
You know when people are so funny that by getting a laugh out of them makes you feel like you have made a huge achievement?
I just did that! I know, I'm as surprised as you are! Paul Rudd and Jason Segel have a new film out called 'I Love You Man,' it's well funny. And I'm glad to say they are as funny, if not funnier in real life.
Yeah I'm so glad and so relieved and I really want them to be my friends. Have a listen to me interview them in what sounds like a tin can, just me in the can though.
17 Again - Zac Efron charms your socks off as a teen version of Matthew Perry, magically transformed back to his senior year at high school. It's fun. 4 stars.
Fast & Furious - Forget the plot and three quarters of the cast - this is all about the return of Vin Diesel to the franchise that made him a star. He growls, he drives fast cars, he growls again. He's awesome. 4 stars.
Dragonball: Evolution - It may not be for the manga purists, but this Hollywood version of the classic Japanese anime is fast and funny enough, with a strong performance by Justin Chatwin as kung-fu mad teen Goku. 3 stars.
Let The Right One In - eerie, eerie, eerie Swedish horror pic about a 12 year old loner and his new bezzy mate - a young girl vampire. Ice, snow and lots of blood make an unforgettable mix. 5 stars.
Race To Witch Mountain - Dwayne Johnson plays a taxi driver with issues, forced to help two alien kids who land in the Nevada desert. Average holiday fodder, with Dwayne playing it too downbeat to be really exciting. 2 stars.
Nigel and James.. HELOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Yes in the same room with me for a good 40 minutes, I know, I'm not sure how they came out the other side!
What I can tell you is that James Mcavoy brought me square sausage from his Grandad's butcher's shop, bless! They both arrived on their bikes and wouldn't stop giving it mines is bigger than yours, by the time you read this hopefully James will have passed his bike test.
They are in a play in Londons west end till May called '3 Days of Rain,' it's very good. Is James going to be playing Kurt Cobain in a film? Will he return to Shameless and what does Nigel think of Dot Cotton? Listen back to find out.
Dwayne 'the rock' Johnson was only here about a year ago and he's back to talk about his new film Race To Witch Mountain. It's a Disney film and a remake of an old classic Escape To Witch Mountain. I can't put into words how big his muscles are, I could see the blood pumping throug the veins as they poked through the arm of his t-shirt. Very charming and lovely and polite and he nearly had me in tears talking about when he watched the film The Wrestler. You'll never guess what track he picked? Have a listen
If you did this stuff in real life you'd get arrested quicker than Lee Lo speeding down Sunset Boulevard. But in the escapist world of the movies, these are classics.
1. The Italian Job (1969 & 2003) The original served up a car chase in Turin with a cheeky grin (red, white and blue Minis anyone?). The remake souped up the motors and trasported the action to LA. Iconic stuff.
2. The Transporter (2002) Some action stars look like they were born to be behind a wheel. The steely-eyed Jason Statham, driving bank robbers through the strees of Nice, is one of those guys.
3. The Bourne Supremacy (2004) The Russian taxi that Matt Damon drives might not be the coolest but the way he handles it in the Moscow tunnels is awesome. A handheld, gritty chase that puts you in the driving seat.
4. Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) Arnie took the action movie into a new era with an awesome truck vs motorbike chase, battling the evil T-1000. Huge, huge, huge.
5. The Matrix Reloaded (2003) A freeway chase scene that took 3 months to film was always going to be special. Add in 100 cars, some in-car kung fu and weird twins with dreadlocks and you're left breathless.
The Zac of the Efron has a new film called 17 Again. Now I've not actually seen the film but James King has so both of us went along to chat to the young gentleman who makes most young and quite a few older ladies hearts skip a wee beat.
What a well rounded young man he is and very funny. He's fun, have a listen.
You know when you have preconceptions about people? It's a BAD thing, a really bad thing. If i've learnt anything recently it's not to judge a book by it's cover. I was a bit nervous about interviewing Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, wasn't sure how they would be, you know just flown in, done 1001 interviews already answering the same questions. Nothing like it, funny, flirty and down right great fun. She's one sexy lady and he's pretty fit for a big guy. Have a listen and their new film Fast and Furious is out on Friday.
Monsters vs Aliens - Awesome 3-D animation (above) with Reese Witherspoon voicing unlucky bride Susan, turned into a giant on her wedding day and forced to battle a UFO invasion. Very funny. 4 stars.
Religulous - Documentary in the Michael Moore mould, with Us comedian Bill Maher investigating organised religion. Well meaning and kinda funny, but cheap shots don't make this especially clever. 3 stars.
The Boat That Rocked - The latest Richard Curtis pic sees an all-star cast (Bill Nighy, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Nick Frost) take to the high-seas on a 1960s pirate radio ship. Kinda funny but lacking the killer punch of his previous movies. 3 stars.
It was about time Reese and I were in the same room. I don't see it but a few people have said that we look a little alike????? I wish. Anyhooooo I was very lucky to get some time with her and the very charismatic Kiefer Sutherland to talk about their new animated film 'Monsters vs Aliens.'
I didn't really know what to expect from either of them as it was my first time! Kiefer was engaging and warm and very smiley, Reese was beautiful and so petite but - if i'm being honest - not quite as warm as I was hoping for. Maybe it was just me, I guess I just really wanted her to like me. You forget that they are also speaking to another 145 journalists that day. Have a listen, if not just to hear the bass on Kiefers voice!
Sometimes you have to be happy that careers go belly-up. After the first Fast & Furious pic, there we were expecting Paul Walker and Vin Diesel to rule the world with their awesomeness and they went and made Into The Blue and The Pacifier instead.
The result though is that they now need a hit movie - and what better way to get one than reteam for a sequel. Throw in original co-stars Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez, plus stupidly high octane car stunts too, and I for one am thankful for Hollywood's fickle finger of fate.
Here's what's stupidly called a 'featurette' telling you all about Fast & Furious Part 4.
1. Jake Lloyd - little Jake as a whiny Annakin Skywalker, alongside the evil that is Jar Jar Binks, reminded us that not everything George Lucas touches turns to gold. There's a good article about it here: https://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/film/1915732.stm
2. Jonathan Lipnicki - he was the sickly sweet speccy kid in Jerry Maguire; the sickly sweet speccy kid in Stuart Little; and the sickly sweet speccy kid in The Little Vampire. I hated him.
3. Dakota Fanning - the archetypal child star. A good actress, yes - but was waaaaay to confident for her years. Check out War Of The Worlds and The Cat In The Hat.
4. Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen - not the most annoying actors in the world, just annoyingly successful. Running a production company aged 9, anyone?
5. Jonathan Ke-Quan - he was an 80s icon as Short Round in The Temple Of Doom and Data in The Goonies. But in the cold light of adulthood, he was really quite irritating.
It's our week of Rhys' on the show this week. D'Arby has been and Witherspoon is still to come (not the chain of pubs but the American actress). I digress. Rhys Ifans is another name that stars in The Boat That Rocked and he popped in for a wee chat.
It was the day after the premiere and he was on great form. Very much looking forward to seeing him play Howard Marx in Mr Nice. Check out what he had to say about that and other stuff.
