And a happy new year to you too
Greetings in this half light of 2006. In a sea of new year's resolutions we have made precisely none. Not because we can't be bothered but simply because we have all been too busy building this remarkable programme for you.
Please do be warned that Nigella Lawson's inheritance tracks have brought tears to the eyes of every producer who has listened to the feature so far. You might want to have a hanky ready.
That piece of advice is my gift to you - I hope that 2007 is a gorgeous one for you.
Do keep listening - we all need the work.
Best wishes and all.

With all the comment about what the show could or should have been called, you might be interested to know that the R4 "What's On" webpage (/radio4/schedule/), you're listed today as "Saturday Review". And come to think of it, we never see Fi and Tom Sutcliffe at the same time...
Complain about this postAre you aware that at the moment the 'What's on listings' this morning have the link to 'Saturday Review' rather than 'Saturday Live'.

PS Can we have lots more of Matt Harvey!
Complain about this postAfter an absence of several weeks, I tuned in this morning to see if the ghastly smug-fest that is Saturday Live had improved. A mere 60 seconds in, and the dread words "special guest - Hardeep Singh Kholi" proved that things were as bad as ever. Why is Fi Glover incapable of presenting any radio show without this man at her side? He has nothing worthwhile to say on any subject, and he is certainly not funny.
Complain about this postEven Gyles Brandreth was better than this!
Hi Fi & team
Thanks for interesting programme this morning. I was fascinated by the tub tale of recycling as I was by the lion tamer - almost persuaded me to attend an animal circus when next it comes my way. The Big Ben time-keeper's piece was fascinating - does he mean that the firework display is triggered by the clapper at the stroke of midnight? More could be told... Best of all was the poet's piece about his favourite things. Any chance of a copy? Please.
Thanks for the magazine-style show. And loved your comments about dear Sandi when she was not there!

Complain about this postNever mind the political correctness regarding the Gypsy comments there may be more Nigels than Gypsies listening to your show. Anyway whats wrong with calling a lion Nigel, as your jibes pointed out there is a lot of prejudice against Nigel as a name for people. Naming a noble lion may help to highlight Nigel as the mighty name that it undoubtably is.

Heard the last half of your piece about the Czech-Jewish artist who was in Terezin then deported to Auschwitz but missed his name. I live in Prague and am interested in researching 20th century European history.
Complain about this postCould you please provide me with the young man's name?
Thanks.
