Title: Hitch-Hiking in the W.A.A.F.

Name: Olga Ridley

Location: From No. 1 Fighter Station Biggin Hill Kent

A Story re. the Royal Air Force. (My no. 2083027 Biggin Hill Kent)

As every service person did in the War, I was hitch hiking from Bromly Kent, to get to a train station. A vehicle came along so I flagged it down, thumb wise. I didn’t realize until I got inside that it was a herse! When I got out, near the station, the driver assisted me and said ‘Well, did you enjoy your company?’ I said ‘Who?’ He pointed to the coffin and said ‘Him!’
