Supernova returns to 大象传媒 TWO for second series - from Thursday 3 August 2006, 9.30pm
Introduction
Rob Brydon returns as Dr Paul Hamilton for a second series
of the out-of-this-world comedy Supernova.
Paul and his eccentrically brilliant colleagues from the Royal Australian
Observatory are back for six episodes about life, love and the universe.
听
This new series sees Paul nearly start World War Three,
hunt for a killer kangaroo, get seduced by an 18-year-old girl, become
a champion camel jockey and enrage the ancient Aboriginal spirits by pilfering
their sacred relics.
听
Supernova is television comedy on a grand scale. The series
is set in the stunning Australian Outback and rockets viewers through far-flung
black holes, cosmic stardust and rips in the fabric of time and space.
听
The characters brave heat, flies, wildlife, crazy locals and each other
to unravel the mysteries of the cosmos.
听
Rob Brydon stars alongside noted Australian comedy performers Kris
McQuade, Kat Stewart, Peter Kowitz, Tim
Draxl, Damion Hunter and Hollie Andrew.
听
Supernova is brought to the screen by British director Sandy
Johnson (Jonathan Creek, Love Soup, William and Mary, Inspector
Morse, Auf Wiedersehen Pet) and co-produced by Fox World Australia and Hartswood
Films.
听
Supernova II's six 30-minute episodes were shot at Fox Studios
Australia in Sydney and on location in Broken Hill.
听
The series is commissioned
by 大象传媒 TWO in the UK and UKTV in Australia and premieres in the UK
in August 2006.
