Jamaal studies harp with Professor Daphne Boden at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, alongside composition. He took up the instrument at six years of age, having been dazzled by its sound. He hopes to further his musical education at university.
Away from music, Jamaal is training as a Men's Artistic Gymnastics judge, having competed in the sport for much of his life. He has studied Japanese for several years, particularly enjoying the art of Japanese calligraphy.
